@West Ham urged to secure ‘perfect’ Liverpool transfer as David Moyes plots first signing
West Ham boss David Moyes has been urged to make Liverpool outcast Nathaniel Clyne his first signing as Hammers boss. Clyne hasn’t played once for the Reds this season. Moyes is still yet to dip into the January transfer market, having taken over from Manuel Pellegrini in December. The Hammers spent big in the previous summer window, and they could be forced to sell players before they can make acquisitions this month. But former Tottenham goalkeeper Paul Robinson believes they should be looking at a cut-price deal for Clyne. The 28-year-old has been at Anfield since 2015, but has barely played in recent years thanks to the emergence of Trent Alexander-Arnold. JUST IN: Transfer news LIVE - Bruno Fernandes to Man Utd, Chelsea, Arsenal, Liverpool  Over the last two seasons, he has appeared in a total of seven games for Jurgen Klopp’s side. By comparison, he played 14 times in the league for Bournemouth on loan last season. He is unlikely to get any closer to the first team at the moment, either, because of Alexander-Arnold. For that reason, Robinson has urged the defender to make the switch to the London Stadium. DON’T MISS Premier League done deals: Every confirmed transfer in the January window [NEWS] Man Utd transfer news LIVE: Bruno Fernandes deal under threat after Ed Woodward decision [BLOG] Man Utd make James Maddison transfer decision with Bruno Fernandes in mind [GOSSIP] READ MORE When Man Utd need to complete Fernandes transfer for Liverpool debut  Speaking to FootballInsider247, he explained why West Ham would be the perfect fit for him at the moment. “It could be perfect, it could work for both sides, just because he’s been out for so long,” he said. “He’s clearly not going to get in the Liverpool team, he’ll be a bit-part player at most, and if he does want to play this year then it could be a move that works for both sides. “I could see that happening.” READ MORE Liverpool transfer news LIVE: Suarez stops £90m raid, £12.8m bid made  Clyne suffered a cruciate ligament injury since last summer, but Klopp recently claimed he was close to a return. He said: “Clyney is in a good way but not available [just yet].” Robinson isn’t the only ex-player who thinks Clyne would be a good signing to make, as Danny Mills also urged him to make the switch. Trending  “I think he’s a very good player, a very good defender and he’s been unfortunate,” he told FootballInsider247. “And obviously the emergence of Alexander-Arnold has clearly hampered his progress but I think he’s a good player. “Somebody, once he gets himself a 100 per cent fit, will benefit greatly from the player that he is.”
