@Paul Scholes claims Liverpool have done something no Man Utd title-winning side ever did
Manchester United legend Paul Scholes claims Liverpool already have their names on the Premier League trophy - something he says United never managed to do at this stage of a season. Liverpool beat Leicester 4-0 at the King Power Stadium on Boxing Day to extend their lead at the top of the table to 13 points. Jurgen Klopp’s side are currently unbeaten 18 matches into the campaign, dropping just two points along the way. Scholes knows all about winning Premier League titles, having done so 11 times during his illustrious playing career at United. He insists the title race is over this season and does not think there was any campaign previously where United could have said the same thing at this stage. “I don’t think we’d ever won it by Christmas,” Scholes told Premier League Productions. JUST IN: Ian Wright identities two ‘massive problems’ for Chelsea and Frank Lampard  “This team, look it’s game over, there’s nobody [who is going to catch them]. “I think the question now is how many points are they going to win it by, I think they’re so good. “[Manchester] City have a team if any team could get anywhere near them but I don’t expect that to happen. “I just think Liverpool are too good. I think the biggest fight we’ve got now this season is probably the relegation fight and third and fourth. DON'T MISSTransfer News Live: Arsenal star agrees Bundesliga deal, Man Utd identify Haaland alternative [BLOG]Three midfielders Man Utd could sign in January to replace Scott McTominay after injury [COMMENT]Man Utd chief Ed Woodward sent back to drawing board as Erling Haaland agrees terms [REPORT] READ MORE Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp provides Jordan Henderson injury update  “Leicester, on the evidence of tonight, they don’t look like a team who could finish in the top four with a performance like that.” Leicester were Liverpool’s main title rivals in many peoples eyes heading into Thursday’s match. Brendan Rodgers’ side currently sit second though could be overtaken if Manchester City avoid defeat against Wolves on Friday (7.45pm). But Reds boss Klopp played down the significance of beating Leicester after the match.
