You can avoid excessive menu taps by queuing multiple taps on the Portal Menu buttons while the dialog is fading out. Certain sequences allow you to save a lot of time. For example, tapping Deploy then Mod, allows you to run both of these Sub menus one after the other without having to escape back to the main menu and re-enter the submenu. For bus-by or drive by hacking, you can avoid the age old problem of upgrading a portal then not getting to hack it because you've gone out of range by the time you finish upgrading. Simply hit Hack then Deploy, this ensures you get your hack in first, then you can upgrade as many Resonators as you can while you are still in range.
