Bulls fought back after a volatile session. The Nifty ended the day at 17434 and sensex jumped over 550 points. All sectors barring PSU Banks were in the green with autos and private banks leading the gains. The broader markets gained in tandem with the frontliners. Coal India, Maruti, Hindalco & HDFC Bank gained while ONGC, ITC & Sun Pharma lost in trade. Some stocks in news included Vedanta which dismissing its plan to rejig corporate structure and instead laid out a capital allocation roadmap saying BPCL bid will be funded along with a strategic investor. Apollo Hospitals according to ET NOW sources is in advance talks to sell up to 20% stake in its subsidiary Apollo Healthco, for a valuation of 3.5 billion dollars and Burger King is all set to start its fundraising process this week by launching a QIP. The company is expected to raise around 1000 crore through the issue. All eyes on the crucial policy meet tomorrow where the RBI is expected to maintain repo rates, but could raise the reverse repo rates with a stance that likely to remain accommodative.
