The move comes despite the roaring success 'Wicked' is registering across globe. Wicked boasts a large cast of LGBTQ+ actors, including Cynthia Erivo, Jonathan Bailey, Bowen Yang. This is not the first time Kuwait has banned a popular film on short notice. The country banned 'Barbie' in 2023, with intent to 'protect public ethics'.
