Nissan’s sub-4 metre SUV, the Magnite, is off to a good start having received over 5,000 bookings and 50,000 enquiries within five days of its launch. The Magnite is available in 20 variants across two petrol engines. It comes at an introductory price of Rs 4.99 lakh to Rs 9.59 lakh (ex-showroom), limited for bookings until December 31. Nissan offers the Magnite with two petrol engine options: a 72PS 1.0-litre naturally aspirated unit and a 100PS 1.0-litre turbo-petrol motor. The Magnite comes equipped with a 5-speed manual as standard while the turbo-petrol engine also gets the option of a CVT. The turbo-petrol engine has a claimed efficiency of 17.7kmpl with the CVT, and 20kmpl with the manual transmission, whereas the naturally aspirated unit offers a mileage of 18.75kmpl. The Magnite is available in five broad variants: XE, XL, XV, XV Premium and XV Premium (O).The naturally aspirated petrol engine is limited for the first four variants, whereas the turbo-petrol will be offered across the top variants. The CVT, which comes with the turbo-petrol option, is available with the XL, XV and XV Premium only. Magnite Features Nissan Magnite comes loaded with features such as an 8-inch infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a 7-inch digital instrument display, cruise control, air purifier, LED headlamps, and keyless entry with push-button start. Safety is taken care of by dual airbags, ABS with EBD, a 360-degree camera, rear parking sensors, tyre pressure monitor and electronic stability control. Nissan offers an additional Tech Pack for the XV, XV Premium, and XV Premium (O) variants which adds features such as an air purifier, a wireless phone charger, ambient lighting, puddle lamps, and a JBL sound system. Nissan Magnite Competitors The Nissan Magnite will rival the Hyundai Venue, Maruti Suzuki Brezza, Tata Nexon, Mahindra XUV300, Kia Sonet, Ford Ecosport, and the upcoming Toyota Urban Cruiser.
