Eamon Walsh DIY's video: Storm proof Concrete Planter with solar lights

@Storm proof Concrete Planter with solar lights.
How to build a storm proof concrete planter with solar lights. This was not the initial name I had for this project but after lifting it into place I soon realised no hurricane, storm or tornado will move this thing. Concrete is a great, cheap material for casting shapes. I had some sheets of tin sheeting (for roofing) which I had acquired when I was renovating my house a few years back. see here: https://youtu.be/_aihSYQGiMw I thought the corrugations which were on the sheeting would look more interesting than just a plain circular shape when cast. I needed two strips of the sheeting to make up the required size. I pop riveted the sheets together for ease and if the rivets are removed carefully the mould can be used over and over again. I used clamps, weights and wire to hold everything together because if your mould moves or splits when filling it's very difficult to get back into shape. The pieces of pipe I put in the bottom were for drainage and to hold the bucket the correct height when filling. Any gaps were filled with silicone. I wrapped the bucket in cling film and oiled the whole mould so the bucket and sheeting could be removed easily. After pouring the concrete I vibrated it with my drill on hammer action. I then left the concrete to cure for 4 day before removing the bucket and the sheeting and then left it for 4 more days before handling it. The steel frame is made from 2 inch box and butt jointed together. The solar lights are just garden path lights and cost €10 for ten in my local hardware. I think I would prefer if they emitted just a little more light from them. Any questions feel free to ask. Hope you enjoyed the video and thanks for watching. **Always be careful when using tools and machinery!!!! YOU ARE IN CHARGE OF YOUR OWN HEALTH & SAFETY!**
