The journey to Manthali from Kathmandu was quite the adventure. After four to five crazy hours in a car, along rolling dirt roads next to a cliffside and river, you will finally find yourself in the tiny town of Manthali. There, you can catch a more promising flight to Lukla. Kathmandu to Lukla flights are often cancelled or delayed, so we decided on this route. Hey, it's all part of the adventure, right? They say that Lukla is the most dangerous and deadly airport in the world! We were the first two people on the 16 passenger propellor plane. We sat right up front .. basically in the cockpit...The plane was loud and quite shaky, but as soon as the Himalayas appeared.. we were left speechless and in awe. Then the pilot turned around and pointed to the triangular mountain in front of him and with a huge smile said, “that’s Everest.” We were overcome with gratitude. • Subscribe and like for more videos like this!
