@What We Loved (and Hated) About Royal Caribbean Harmony of the Seas
We are back from our cruise on Royal Caribbean Harmony of the Seas. In this Harmony of the Seas cruise review, we let you know what we loved and hated about this 7-year-old Oasis Class ship. Now, 7 years later, how does the ship measure up to her sisters? In this honest cruise review, we share everything about Harmony of the Seas. Our Royal Caribbean Harmony of the Seas cruise review details our experiences on a 7-night Western Caribbean and Perfect Day at CocoCay itinerary. Highlights of the trip included the main dining room. We have more to share on this in an upcoming video, but we enjoyed many aspects of the new MDR menus. Actually, I was a fan of the new Indian dishes on the menus each evening. Plus, our waitstaff was fabulous. Specialty dining was also top notch during our recent cruise. We dined at Jamie's Italian and Wonderland, and both the food and service were spectacular. Although, the casual eats on the ship did fall a bit short for us. The outdoor spaces, including the pools and sports deck, were pretty typical for a Royal Caribbean Oasis Class ship; however, we did miss the Caribbean-inspired décor found on newer ships in the fleet. We do enjoy that most of these amenities are complimentary including the waterslides, the Ultimate Abyss, zip line, and more. For this Harmony of the Seas review, we stayed in a balcony cabin. While it did show slight signs of wear, it had the newer Royal Caribbean color palette and plenty of storage space for this week-long voyage. Like most Royal Caribbean mega-ships, Harmony of the Seas featured signature productions. There were two main theater shows, Grease and Columbus The Musical. There was 1887 in the Studio B ice rink as well as another non-reservation show iSkate. In the Aqua Theater, there was the Fine Line diving show along with the non-reservation show Big Daddy's Hideaway Heist. These productions are always a step above the competition. Nightlife and bars on the cruise ship were the standard Royal Caribbean lineup. For this cruise review, we tested out all of the lounges. As always, we loved the performers (and drinks) in the Schooner Bar as well as the acoustic guitarist in the English pub. There was also the house band in Dazzles, a Latin band in Boleros, and other live musical acts. All the parties and parades are back as well, including the Crazy Quest, midnight balloon drop, silent disco, and more. Unfortunately though, the cruise director and staff weren't all that present during the trip like some other competitor lines. Thankfully, we can report in this Harmony of the Seas review that the service team were fantastic. From Darius, our stateroom attendant, to Mr. Oliver and Giovanni in Café Promenade, these crew members took great care of us. In the main dining room, Rohman and Tude were some of the best servers we have ever had on a cruise ship. Overall, Harmony of the Seas offers a great vacation option for a ship of its age. When comparing it to newer fleet members, it still has many bells and whistles. While the pool deck and staterooms could use some updates, it is still a great choice for your next family vacation. It is also a considerably cheaper option than newer vessels like Wonder of the Seas.
