Edinburgh Cyclist's video: SV05WEJ - Horny

SV05WEJ SV05 WEJ 4th July 2020, Clerk Street, Edinburgh At the start of the video, I position myself between the first two cars, because I had a heavy pannier and didn't think I'd be faster than the other cyclists and didn't want to go in front of them. I know the ASL is there, and I know the timing of the lights, so I know it's worth going to the ASL. As the bus lane appears, I stay in the outside lane to pass the other cyclists and parked cars - keeping to the left to allow the driver behind to pass me easily. Apparently that this driver had had enough waiting (to be fair, fairly patiently) and decided to drive along honking his horn at me and the other cyclist in front. I gave him the finger, and then unsurprisingly caught up to him at the lights, where he started shouting something I couldn't hear. I went to the driver's side to talk to him. The conversation went something like: Him: "Why you showing me the finger?" Me: "Because you were honking at me." Him: "(something something) I have also camera here" *points at dashcam* - Not sure why, I didn't point at my camera or anything Me: "Good for you, why were you honking?" Him: "I don't know! You were coming onto my lane, you have got a space" Me: "It's one lane there and-" (I was going to say "And a bus lane") Him: "Yes, you have got a space there you dumb sir" Me: *laughs* Him: "You have two metres there" Me: "Yes..." Him: "I don't want to (???)" - I think it was something like "drive into you" At that point I decided it was pointless arguing and moved back to where I was...
