Edwin A. Santos's video: Kickback: Comic Book Adventure - Bill Liebowitz of Golden Apple Comics

This was a TV project I co-produced and edited when I was a student at CSU Northridge. I'm only posting the first segment my other co-producer and I about comic books -- one of many leisure activities in the 1990s. This show was produced back in 1993. Bill opened Golden Apple in Hollywood in 1979, and a second location in Northridge in 1983. He was the original store owner of Golden Apple Comics (I used to go there a lot every time the 3pm school bell rang at Fairfax High across the street in the '80s). Sadly, Bill passed away in 2004. A lot of the things you see in the segment are from my own collection: the Lou Ferrigno Hulk stuff doll, the "Death In The Family" Batman comic book, the flying Christopher Reeves' Superman from my 'Superman: The Motion Picture' vinyl record soundtrack, etc. I'm posting this up here because in recent years to today, I see how well the comic book industry and both the film & television industries are preserving comic books. As well as inspiring new writers, storytellers, illustrators and entrepreneurs into a collective of their own continuing their industry's progressive growth through digital comics, the internet, etc. The crossovers of beloved film & TV media characters into comic book form are more popular today than it was before! Comic books aren't for little boys anymore -- it's for everyone!!
