It includes photos from WWII, traditional instruments, old maps and manuscripts The museum has personal belongings of well-known past residents of Leros. The Bellenis Tower was built in 1925, summer house of Parissis Bellenis, wealthy Greek-Egyptian contractor. In 1943 it was a hospital for the German army. Hall has portraits of benefactors of Leros. Many personal belongings of the famous pianist Georgios Themelis of Leros (1915-997), blind from birth. First Floor: Lerian outfits, utensils, church relics, etc. One room devoted to the fighter Kyriakos Tsakiris, writer and painter, exiled on Leros during 1967-1974 dictatorship (paintings on stones). Same room has creations of poet Giannis Ritsos. The painter Kyriakos Tsakiris was exiled on Leros in the 1960s & 1970s and did many paintings. Next room has doctor's medical tools from WWII. Sterilization oven, measuring scales, dental chair, medical charts from 1899. Second floor: military exhibits, guns, helmets, maps. The Battle of Leros. Also personal belongings of Lieutenant-Commander Georgios Blessas personal belongings. Another room has ammunition from the battle of Gerondas (1824), maps from 1830s, and also piano of Flora Bellenis. Third floor & Basement = under construction. Press Museum in Alinda
