This is an 8-bit remix of "Extend Ash ~ Hourai Victim", the Extra Stage theme from Touhou 8: Imperishable Night. Personally, I always thought this was a much better theme for Mokou than Reach for the Moon, Immortal Smoke - that song is a bit too "pretty"-sounding, which Hourai Victim sounds a lot more melancholy, which fits more with Mokou's general character. On a compositional note, I finally found a use for the triangle wave! Yay! It's the "sparkly" noises throughout the song, as well as the lead instrument at around 1:45. I've always had difficulty working the triangle into Famitracker covers, it's really unwieldy, especially since you can't change the volume output. At low pitches, it's basically inaudible, while at high pitches, it's really overpowering and kind of annoying. But at least it turned out alright in this song.
