THAT'S MY EMOTIONAL SUPPORT DUO RIGHT THERE. So like I said, quarantine has got me obsessed with anime and I felt an incredible surge of much needed serotonin when I watched this one. It's called "My Roommate is A Cat". The main character is named Subaru Mikazuki. He's an author, he's in his 20s, he's single, and he's grieving the recent loss of his parents after they were an accident. He's an extreme introvert and only has a few friends. He has major anxiety about going out in public and interacting with people. He has really bad social skills and is just a disaster of a human being. It's amazing how much I relate to him. But one day Subaru comes across a stray cat while visiting his parents' graves. He takes the cat home and the story unfolds from there. Part of it is shown through his point of view, but you also get to see it through the cat's point of view (he adopts her and names her Haru). They both come to really love and care for each other through their bond. Haru comes into Subaru's life when he's at his lowest and she changes his life for the better. Which is what happened with me and my own cat, Felix (who is also a tuxedo cat just like Haru). Two years ago Felix came into my life when I was at a low point and really struggling with depression. He's my best friend and he changed my life for the better. Just like Haru does for Subaru. And vice versa. I really wanted to make a video for Subaru and Haru because they are so special to me. And I thought this song fit their relationship just perfectly. :) MRMIAC honestly the cutest and most heartwarming thing I've watched in a really long time. It filled my heart with so much joy and I still watch episodes whenever I'm feeling down. Honestly, this anime makes me cry, but happy tears because I just related to Subaru so much. I love it so much, I watched both the Japanese and English versions and I read the manga. That's how much I love it. And a few months ago, Austin Tindle (the English dub voice actor for Subaru) did a Facebook Live. I watched it live and I told him how much I love Subaru and how relatable he is. He was so sweet to me and said he totally understands how relatable Subaru is. After dubbing the anime, he even adopted his own cat and named her Haru. I think that is the most adorable thing ever. Voice actors are always the sweetest and nicest people I stg. WE STAN. This one will be DEFINITELY be in my personal top favorites. I need more animes about cats.
