Ellensi's video: Video Premiere - Dresden Violin Concerto in D major Schrank II 33 69 - The International Anonymous

@Video Premiere - Dresden Violin Concerto in D major, Schrank II/33/69 - The International Anonymous
Violin Concerto in D major Schrank II/33/69 From SLUB Dresden manuscript Mus.2.O-1,45 Presented by The International Anonymous 2020 was definitely a year of numerous problems everywhere. With the pandemic locking us all indoors, we were forced to come up with all kinds of activities from the comforts of our homes. So two musicians, Ellensi Rey Chandra and Miguel Antonio Davao, came up with an idea for a massive online collaboration with friends and colleagues. We decided to premiere a video recording of a newly discovered concerto, highlighting the cadenza. The concerto was discovered and researched by Javier Lupiañez from a manuscript score in the Saxon State and University Library Dresden (SLUB), Germany. The piece is formally called “Violin Concerto in D major Schrank II/33/69”, taken from SLUB Dresden manuscript Mus.2.O-1,45. There is a research paper written by Javier about this and you can read all about it here (https://www.academia.edu/15764136). The concerto was copied by Johann Georg Pisendel sometime between 1720 and 1730. Pisendel and Antonio Vivaldi worked together in 1716, and it’s a possibility that this work could be a previously undiscovered Vivaldi piece. The paper by Javier discusses this more, but we think that it is. The concerto has numerous similarities to Vivaldi's works such as RV 212 and RV 562, and RV 208. Whatever the result is, this work was certainly a joy to play with these great musicians. Enjoy and Happy New Year! Jump to movements: 00:10 I. All[egr]o 04:35 II. Grave 05:51 III.
