Emery Island's video: To the Moon Back Savage Garden Emery Island Cover

@To the Moon & Back/Savage Garden (Emery Island Cover
A shooting star crashed into Earth wanting to change forms for a life. She had watched from afar since she had come into being and was curious about what it was like to be human. She wanted to feel emotions, live a human life, to discover, and maybe even be discovered. Her memory would be erased and would only be returned after her life on Earth had ended. She would not be allowed to choose the life she would be given, for Destiny demanded complete control in exchange for the experience she so desperately craved. Carelessly, and without hesitation, she agreed. She awoke in a forest with both the moon and the sun shining down upon her. The playful animals stopped to stare and the tall grass swayed as if leading her forward. The waving flowers proudly sang for her and the purple sky dropped raindrops in the brightest most beautiful colors she had ever seen. The excitement in the air created whirlwinds that blew out of control all around her. Leaves wildly danced and the whispering trees fell quiet as she passed. The ground felt alive under her feet and the wind lightly stung her face as if trying to taste her. She knelt down to drink from the river and it laughed as if being tickled, splashing her as it giggled. She wondered if this was life on Earth and a voice behind her whispered, “No, this is the life you have brought with you to my Earth, the life inside you. It is now showing off and playing for you, in the hope that you won’t forget what you had while you search for what it is you feel you need.” The voice continued saying, “You have been given to me, child, and I will decide what type of life you shall have. This is a tricky game you are playing and I must warn you to hold on dearly to the life within you or it may be lost forever. Remember, fully living a true life can only be accomplished through the simple act of letting life live as it was destined.” The girl turned and found herself looking into the eyes of Mother Nature. Mother Nature intently met her gaze, taking a long look into her, knowing who she was. She could not be fooled, for she was old and wise. “What is it you crave, child? Why do you seek a new life?” The girl turned away feeling ashamed and unable to face her. Mother Nature took her hand in hers and said, “I can only promise to show you what it is to live in this world, but not how to live a happy life, because deep inside of you, you already have your answer.” With that promise, Mother Nature took the girl and tossed her back into the heavens. The sun and moon raced to catch her, fighting for a moment over who would escort her down to her new life, but the moon won. He knew her and had secretly watched her at night while she had danced and sparkled across his sky. He had long loved her and wanted to hold her, if only for a moment. He took her, held her tight and kissed her, as if begging her to stay. He cried for her and what he knew she would now go through; but it was too late, for life had set in and she was changing already. He had to let her go into the night, knowing she would never be the same and his night sky would never be the same with out her. He called after her, “I will remember you” and then she was gone. She lived and she breathed, but deep inside she felt lost. She seemed to live her life staring at the night skies, longing to be up there, craving space and freedom from her very body. She felt trapped, claustrophobic somehow knowing she didn’t belong in this world. Emotions overwhelmed her. Only in nature could she find peace. People never quite seemed real to her. She found herself watching them, as if they were a picture show. She was amused, but not terribly interested. She knew she was alone in a world full of people who could never know her, and something inside kept telling her the fault was her own. She cried until the tears stopped coming and life became a dream she longed to awaken from. The day came where she breathed in her last breath, and the life she had once desperately craved, released her. She shot off into the night, passing the moon as she flew. He smiled at her and held out his hand. She came back to him, stared into his glow and remembered. “You were there, the day I was born on Earth, were you not?” she asked. “I was.” he said tenderly “And long before. I must now confess that I kissed your memory into your soul, so that you would not forget who you were, and where you belonged.” She smiled at the moon and thanked him for helping her find her way back. A body would never hold her again. As she traveled, she picked up speed, shooting across the night sky, on her way to discover all the spaces set before her. She felt alive, at peace and forever free. Emery Track credited to Smule App Artists Vocal, Videos & Edit by Emery
