Poetry Lover's video: The soul you had - Poem by Pedro Salinas

@The soul you had - Poem by Pedro Salinas
☼ El alma tenías ~ Pedro Salinas ~ Pedro Salinas y Serrano (27 November 1891, Madrid -- 4 December 1951, Boston) was a Spanish poet, considered to be one of the leading poets of the Spanish literary movement, the Generation of 27, which includes Federico Garcia Lorca, Rafael Alberti, Luis Cernuda, Emilio Prados, Vicente Aleixandre and others. He was also a scholar and critic of Spanish literature, teaching at universities in Spain, England, and the United States. ------------------------- The soul you had was lucent and open I could never enter your soul. I searched for shortcuts, narrow passages steep and difficult ... and could reach your soul widely. I prepared a ladder - I dreamed high walls that retain your soul but your soul was without guard walls and fence. I looked for the narrow doorway of your soul, but your soul was free there was no door. Where it begun? Ended, where ? I remained sitting there forever, upon the mysterious threshold of your soul. ~ Pedro Salinas (translated by me) ♫ Meravigliosa Creatura (piano solo) Gianna Nannini ~ I do not own these photos, found them via Google, thanks to all unknown artists.
