English Heritage's video: A New Art Installation at Housesteads Roman Fort with Morag Myerscough

A new art installation has been created on the site of the original gatehouse at Housesteads Roman Fort. Commissioned as part of Hadrian’s Wall 1900th anniversary celebrations, the artwork will be open for visitors to enjoy until Sunday 30 October 2022. Standing in the exact spot that the north gatehouse at Housesteads once stood, the colourful re-imagining of the gatehouse echoes the original building in size and as visitors can climb to the top, the installation opens up views of the ancient landscape, last seen by Roman soldiers 1600 years ago.
