The overwhelming majority of Korean people were hospitable and went out of there way to make the Olympics a success. However, during the Lunar New Year Holliday some key decision makers caused the whole plan to go awry. Here is the short list of things that went wrong for those attending the Pyeongchang Games during the Lunar New Year: 1. Olympic host nations cannot abdicate their duties as a host because they have a holiday. 2. Bids to host the Olympics cannot be based on misrepresentations. There was very little chance spectators to get back to their hotel in Seoul from February 14 to the 18th. 3. The time to travel across Korea to was much higher than advertised. 4. Shuttle buses must be readily available to deliver people to events 5. Taxis must be available if there is no late night public transportation service. 6. Hotels and taxis around Gangneung exploited Olympic visitors. 7. Olympic guests should never be forced into the homeless life. 8. There should be an adequate food and beverage supply at the games. 9. Very little planning was done to assist the elderly and handicap. 10. There should never be so many empty seats at the Olympic games. 11. People who ordered tickets to be picked up at Gangneung often could not pick them up. 12. Those who wanted to buy tickets often could not in spite of there being many seats available. 13. There should not be bait and switch scams with the ticketing. 14. Giving away your paid seat to Chinese villagers who do not care about sports or hockey.
