Indeed it is barren, lifeless & dry w/ only 3 to 8 inches of rain a year. Scorching summers of 45*Celsius & frigid winters of below -40*Celsius. Yet there is vegetation, goats & livestock grazing w/ nomadic people still living here for the past 10,00 yrs. Why & How...is this possible ?. Join us therefore to explore this unique & unusual desert & see why life exists in this desolate place. We will trek the spectacular sand dunes, hike the rocky mountainous gorge & canyon and be awed by the blazing red sandstone cliffs & buttes at Bayanzag, an area in the Gobi rich in fossilized eggs, bones & skeletons of dinosaurs that once roamed this place 60 million yrs ago.
