In this video, we will show you how to travel through Egypt by car. After spending a week in Hurghada, diving the Red Sea we decided to take a road trip and drive to Luxor. The drive is fairly far, it takes about 3 hours by private car and the road is not the best. The road snakes through the mountains and the desert. When you get near to Luxor, you drive by the farms and the poorer areas. You will see slums, donkeys on the side of the road, and many poor people wandering the streets. We felt safe during drive-through Egypt, despite the many roadblocks and that are taxi driver told us to lie to the security officers and tell them we were from Luxor. I don't know why this was necessary? We stopped over in a small town along the way to do some shopping and go to the bathroom. There were plenty of souvenirs and we made some purchases. We bought some sunglasses and a turban to block out the sun. Unfortunately, we paid a little too much. Next stop, Luxor!
