Any who, with the New Year I decided it would be the most opportune time to change up the do a bit. Enter: Shea Moisture Hair Color System in Reddish Brown! If you’re familiar with the Shea Moisture brand, you’ll already know that they first and foremost want to care for your hair. I love that while I got a great color change I also had my hair super moisturized in the end! That’s usually not the case when doing whole head hair color. I started on dry, dirty (LORDT it was so dirty) hair. I was really stretching wash day like a mofo—like, I was low key ashamed to be filming my hair in such a state. Haha! My hair is what I would consider “virgin” hair because all of the hair color (from two years ago) had slowly been cut out leaving me with unprocessed/uncolored natural hair. I opted to dump all of my dye in a plastic bowl and brush it on versus using the included concentration nozzle. The application process took 20 minutes and I left the mixture on my hair for an additional 25 minutes and covered with plastic wrap. MY THOUGHTS: I absolutely loved the process, it was quick, easily accessible (Target for $15, what what?!) and cost-effective! I want to know what YOUR experience is with coloring your natural hair.
