European Molecular Biology Laboratory (EMBL)'s video: A new era for European molecular biology: EMBL is embarking on a new strategic programme

@A new era for European molecular biology: EMBL is embarking on a new strategic programme
For almost 50 years EMBL’s science has helped to improve human, animal, and plant health. We study how the very processes of life work. From molecules, like DNA and protein, to cells, organisms, and entire ecosystems. Now, we’re expanding our horizons – to understand life in the context of its environment. The need is urgent – society is facing enormous global challenges: irreversible loss of biodiversity, antimicrobial resistance, pollution, food security, emergent pathogens, and climate change. We believe extraordinary times demand an extraordinary approach. Our new programme builds on EMBL’s globally recognised expertise in molecular and cellular biology, structural biology, and developmental biology. We will now expand into new areas including planetary biology, human ecosystems, infection biology, and microbial ecosystems. We're ushering in a new era in life sciences research in Europe. And we are keen to engage and collaborate.
