If you are going to visit the Teotihuacan Pyramids make sure to go have lunch at this restaurant in a cave in Mexico called La Gruta Restaurant. La Gruta is set deep inside a cave and it is just the coolest atmosphere to enjoy delicious Mexican food. And yes, this cave restaurant really does serve up some tasty comida Mexicana, even if the bill is a bit more gringo flavored. it is worth the extra money. Check out the website http://lagruta.mx/index_en.php The menu is a good representation of classic authentic Mexican cuisine. They have a fun selection of cocktails too. We tried a grasshopper and guacamole corn cake, a salad with ancient greens, barbacoa, a corn cake dessert and café de olla. The Mexcian cave restaurant is located just outside Door 5, behind the Pyramid of the Sun. Just walk out the parking exit, turn left on Tuxpan, turn right on the first street onto Avenida del Puente, and keep left at the fork, you'll see signs. You have to walk down a way to get to the entrance. You can re-enter the site of the pyramids after with your ticket.
