Captured to be tested on in a research facility, A primate named "Bright-Eyes" (Terry Notary) and many other apes are test subjects for the ALZ-112 ,an experimental drug produced by Dr. Will Rodman (James Franco) who hopes it will successfully become the cure to Alzheimer's. While in the research lab, Dr. Rodman and Dr. Robert Franklin (Tyler Labine) soon discover that the drug not only works, but it gives the apes intelligence and skills far beyond what they could have ever expected.
