Evin Gualberto's video: Brooklyn Nets - Split Action

@Brooklyn Nets - Split Action
Just wanted to do *quick* little video. The basics of split action is that typically when the ball would get entered (into the low post, elbows, or the top of the key and/or nail area), there would be some sort of screening action between two players RIGHT in front of the ball. Usually, one would set a screen for the other to pop out while the screener cut to the basket. One of the true beauties of the Brooklyn Nets’ split action was that they ran it out of 5-Out and so they rarely ever had a traditional player cutting to the basket. The overall shooting ability of the Nets allowed them to fully maintain spacing even while performing these split cuts allowed for the likes of DeAndre Jordan, Nic Claxton, and Blake Griffin to apply rim pressure on the roll (and likely allowed the first two to find more minutes than they would have otherwise with a different offense). It also gave room for their big 3 to go work - they could hit the roller, get downhill themselves, create their own shot (although plays that largely turned into isolations after split action were excluded from this video), or find the hot hand of one Joe Harris (48% on above the break AND 48% on corner 3s per CTG) from deep. 0:00 - Elbow Splits 0:43 - Scissor (Middle Split) 1:09 - Low Post Splits If you'd like to support me: Venmo - @Evin_Gual Cash App - $EvinGual Patreon - https://www.patreon.com/evin_gual
