Jamal Murray notched 26.5 points per game on 50.5/45.3/89.7 shooting splits while also averaging 4.8 rebounds and 6.6 assists per game throughout these playoffs with a usage rate in the 82nd percentile (according to Cleaning the Glass). Murray’s 3 game run of 50-42-50 in the first round marked the first time a player had scored THREE straight 40 point games in a series since Michael Jordan did it in 1993 - Jamal Murray was born in 1997. Murray and Donovan Mitchell joined Michael Jordan and Allen Iverson as the ONLY other players in the history of the league to have MULTIPLE 50 point games in a single playoff series. If you combine games 4 and 5 against Utah in the first round, Jamal tallied 92 points on 35-57 shooting (13-23 from three) with 19 rebounds and 15 assists and most importantly ZERO turnovers. The Canadian sensation also had FOUR 40 point playoff games in this postseason alone. His fourth - in a GAME 7 no less, made him the second youngest player in NBA history to score 40 points in a game 7. The youngest was LeBron James. There’s not much more to say besides that Murray’s shot making was mesmerizing. He had one of the more memorable and magical playoff runs of recent memory. Jamal’s stroke is as sweet as they come and this video is focuses on that. Catch and shoots were cut for time.
