Trae Young was an NBA All-Star in 2020 with averages of 29.6 points per game on 43.7/36.1/86.0 splits PLUS 9.3 assists. John Collins averaged 21.6 points on 58.3/40.1/80.0 those 10.1 rebounds and 1.6 blocks a game. According to Cleaning the Glass, 78% of John Collins’ baskets in 2019-20 were assisted. Trae Young had a 38.7 usage percentage (in the 100th percentile for PGs) and assisted on 42.4% of his team’s baskets (again, in the 100th percentile for PGs) - so it’s fair to say that Trae had a NOT small hand in makes by John Collins. To his credit, Collins is an ELITE partner in the pick and roll. Per synergy, he yielded 1.312 points per possession (PPP)(on 208 possession, which is not exactly a small sample size) and 1.343 PPP on pick and pops.
