Explaining Android's video: Emulating Final Fantasy 7 on Switch with Yuzu 161 on Android Galaxy S23 w Snapdragon 8 Gen 2

@Emulating Final Fantasy 7 on Switch with Yuzu 161 on Android | Galaxy S23 w/ Snapdragon 8 Gen 2
Today we'll be testing the performance with the Nintendo Switch port of Final Fantasy VII on Yuzu for Android. ~~~~~ Hi! The game is currently set to Docked Mode, and the only changes I've made with settings is I have enabled the Native Code Execution feature. If you're not familiar with what NCE is on Yuzu for Android, and are curious to learn more, I'll be sure to include a link to a dedicated video I have on this channel that covers this big update while also showing you how to download the new version and how to enable the feature. Now I know some people would rather emulate the original PS1 game. But Square has added some quality of life features to this port, like they did with the PS4 port. So you'll have access to the so-called "cheats" menu where you can enable tweaks like limited encounters, invincibility, a fast forward button, and more. So you can see we're getting very consistent numbers when it comes to this opening cut scene, which is great considering the game wouldn't even boot up before NCE was added to Yuzu. As we get into the gameplay, the frames per second that we're getting seem to indicate a limit of the game itself. I believe this is true since we're seeing the numbers fluctuate between 15FPS, 30FPS, and 60FPS depending on where we are in the game. If the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chip were struggling with performance, I think we'd see frame rates hitting the mid 20s, or even in the 40s somewhere. But it seems as if Yuzu is pushing the game as far as it's able to be pushed. Again, you are still likely to get a better gaming experience by emulating the PS1 port and cranking up the resolution, but having this classic on a modern console can be nice with those Quality of Life features that were added in. So it's clear that Yuzu for Android is easily able to handle the Final Fantasy 7 port these days. This was a game that has been tested time and time again but now with NCE enabled you can play this Nintendo Switch port quite well on Android. If you the FPS you're able to hit with this game do not match what you saw in this video, then let us all know which phone you have and which chip is inside it. I suspect most high-end and mid-range chips will be able to play through this game really well.
