Explaining Android's video: Samsung Galaxy One UI had Standby Mode Years before iOS with Landscape AOD Feature

@Samsung Galaxy One UI had Standby Mode Years before iOS with Landscape AOD Feature
Samsung smartphones and tablets have had an always-on display option but they only recently received an update that allows for a standby option. ~~~~~ Hi! I have the Galaxy S23 right here but this should work with any Samsung Galaxy smartphone or tablet that offers an AOD feature within its settings. You should be able to find this option by opening up the Settings application. Scrolling down a little bit so you can select the Lock Screen option. And then looking for the the Always On Display feature right here. You likely have noticed that this feature is enabled by default, and we can toggle it on or off directly from this menu. But if you tap on the actual menu option here, then we can actually customize its options. If you're trying to get a feature that's similar to Apple's Standby Mode then you likely want to change this to the Show Always option. But you could also set a schedule so this mode is only enabled during a certain time frame. For when you're laying down in bed, for example. . .or while you're at work. But a new addition to Samsung's always on display feature is that we can change the screen orientation from Portrait over to Landscape. Once enabled, we can turn the device sideways and then lock it. You will notice that after a few seconds the always on display mode will kick in so you can see the clock and any immediate notifications. This is nice and all, but there's also a hidden UI that can be accessed by double tapping on the clock. Then from here, we can swipe down until you see the Settings button. Now we can toggle various widgets on or off to customize the way standby mode looks on our Samsung Galaxy smartphone or tablet. I do wish that Samsung had a way to keep these widgets on screen while the Always On Display mode was active. . .but as you can see, it defaults back to the clock and notification icons after a few seconds. Hopefully we see this feature fleshed out with more options in the future as more people begin to expect this on their Android device. There are many cases out there with a kickstand that makes this feature so much more useful. But there's also some desk stands out there, like the one I use for these videos, that can be adjusted for something like this. Maybe we'll see Google and other OEMs add a landscape mode option for their always on display feature too. Step by Step Tutorial ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ 1. Intro [00:00] 2.
