There are actually a couple of ways this can be done with a Samsung smartphone or tablet. The only requirement here is that you must have Samsung's default firmware installed. But at least it won't matter which version of OneUI you have installed. To begin, I'll show you the basic method. It works by first opening the application you want to sit in the top half of your screen. Then press the Recents button, aka the Overview button. And then tap on the application icon at the top of the preview. It's here where we can select the Open in Split Screen View option. Which will bring it to the foreground while also shrinking it's preview window to the top half of the screen. Once this has been activated, Samsung will display a list of the applications and games you currently have installed. So from here, we want to tap on the application that we want to sit in the bottom half of the screen. And you can see both of the applications should work exactly like you're used to. You may see the elements rearrange themselves so that they're able to fit on the screen. But you should be able to use them just like you normally would. We can resize the windows by tapping and dragging on this center line right here. Just be careful that you don't swipe too high up or too far down as that will close out of that app, so the remaining one is resized to take up the full screen. Which is a great way of exiting this split screen view mode, as well. If you tend to activate split screen mode with two specific apps quite frequently, you may decide to save these together in what is known as an App Pair. We can do this by tapping on this center line right here. And then selecting the Heart icon. You can now choose to save this App Pair on the Home Screen or in your Edge Panel here. And this is the second way that we can activate split screen view mode on Samsung Galaxy smartphones and tablets. We just save it as an App Pair and then launch them from either the Home Screen or the Edge Panel. The end result is the same. . .it can just save you a bit of time by launching them from an App Pair than to set them up individually. Either way, Split Screen View mode on Samsung Galaxy smartphones and tablets is much more intuitive than how Google has it setup in AOSP and I appreciate the South Korean tech conglomerate putting in the extra effort here.
