In the St. Louis metro, photos and video from social media showed hail covering the ground in many locations. Hail was up to the size of quarters, according to reports from the National Weather Service. The slow-moving cluster of storms also produced some impressive rainfall totals in a short period of time. Near Affton in St. Louis County, 1.13 inches of rain was reported in just 30 minutes. Farther west in Dutzow, Missouri, an even more impressive 2.25 inches of rain was reported in 30 minutes.
