Johnny Schembri, designer of By Johnny explored the use of light, shade and space in his latest ‘Spectrum’ collection. Giant 3D cut out cubes hung from the ceiling, projecting shadows across the show space, which set the tone for his bold graphic aesthetic. Johnny used clever body contouring and digital printing to accentuate the female silhouette in a cool combination of pastels, monochrome and metallics whilst 3D draping techniques and cut out details added depth to his optical illusion looks. The By Johnny girl is ultra feminine, brave and sophisticated but Johnny took her to a new level of modern this season.
