The Michael Lo Sordo AW14 collection at VAMFF was classic, minimal, and romantic, inspired by the modern Australian woman, with a focus on accentuating her natural beauty. Held on the fourth day of the festival, the show was presented by ELLE Australia, alongside several Australian designers. Michael Lo Sordo chose a monochrome colour palette with a soft ballet pink, and clean silhouettes were given character through sheer panelling, unexpected cutouts, provocative slits, and plunging necklines. Leather was an interesting and effortless addition, and hair and makeup remained fresh and simple. Michael Lo Sordo consistently creates luxurious, sophisticated and modern garments, and the emerging designer’s AW14 collection featured some of the season’s most covetable pieces.
