This season Aurelio Costarella delivered a collection of 1920’s and 1930’s Parisienne style silhouettes with a contemporary twist. Costarella included his usual elegant signature looks in the form of multi-textured dresses and gowns but this season it was all about beading and embroidery in metal, ostrich feather and crystal. Photographer Man Ray inspired the collection but the final looks felt more like Man Ray combined with a Caribbean carnival. Colours ranged from crisp white to shades of flame, orchid, fuchsia and citrus, which added some spice to the collection. Costarella managed to teach a lesson in how to use colour to create vibrancy with his latest ‘Solaire’ collection.
