Recent graduate Leroy Nguyen provided his fourth collection to date ‘Blue Rose’ as a dark cinematic fantasy. He was inspired by the fairytale of the blue rose from the film ‘Pan’s Labyrinth’ and how we live in an intense urban city but constantly trying to connect with nature. There was a strong surfer influence present in the form of masculine tailored shirts, padded sweaters and swimwear in a range of aquatic colours. The structured silhouettes allowed room for subtle scaly prints, which led to deeper more expressive floral ones and then onto colour blocking. It was sexy but still relaxed; the Leroy Nguyen is all about an easy way of dressing with an edge.
