Tsunami surging to Matsukawaura lagoon (Footage provided by viewer) The Japanese text is followed by an English translation. 福島県相馬市の松川浦を襲う津波の様子を捉えた映像。松川浦の尾浜地区にて、県水産試験場・相馬支場の神山享一(かみやま・きょういち)氏が撮影。 松川浦大橋の向こうに、徐々に沸き立つ白波が見え、橋の付近では、何隻かの船が強い波に翻弄(ほんろう)され、座礁する様子が確認できる。 カメラを湾内の機械島から大洲海岸方面に転じると、目前の灯台を激流が襲い、漁船が波にもまれ、今にものみ込まれそうな光景が映し出される。 見守る人たちの願いにも似た悲鳴が飛び交い、「ひっくり返るなよ!」という祈りのような声も聞こえる。 次の瞬間、さらに信じられない光景を遠方に捉え、人々の驚がくの声が響き渡る。 大洲海岸(大洲公園)に拡がる松並木の向こうから、その3～4倍はあろうかという大きな波が押し寄せてきたのだ。 大波は、あっという間に砂州や小島をことごとく乗り越え、のみ込み、すさまじい勢いで陸地に迫ってくる。 目前の湾内の波も激しさを増し、船や車が驚くべき速さで流され、今しがたまで目の前にあった灯台も、波に倒され消え失せた。人々の絶叫は、やむ間もない。 ますます勢い激しく、高さも増していく波。身の危険を感じた撮影者とその周囲の人たちは、自らもより高い場所へと急ぎ避難し、撮影を続ける。 濁流が、ドクドクと湾内に注ぎ込まれ、避難している建物の目前にまで迫り、大量のがれきや車までもが押し寄せてきた。 プロパンガスも激しく白い噴射を巻き散らかしながら、浮遊している。 にわかに現実とは信じ難い...といった思いを口々にし、さらなる引き波や第2波・第3波の脅威を警戒する撮影者たち。 波の勢いが比較的に静まり、再び松川浦大橋の向こうに沸き立った白波を目にしたところで、さらに安全な場所へと移動した。 Footage: A capture of tsunami attacking Matsukawaura lagoon of Soma city, Fukushima prefecture. Turbid waters gush in to the bay, approaching as close as the building in front of the evacuees. Massive amounts of debris and cars come rushing in. A propane cylinder floats by, profusely spraying white liquid. Mouthing their disbelief in the sudden situation that is inevitably a reality, the recorder of the video and other evacuees caution for additional waves and backwashes.
