Ground Liquefaction damages in Urayasu city (Third day after earthquake) The Japanese text is followed by an English translation. 地震によって、広範囲にわたり、地盤の液状化被害を受けた千葉・浦安市の状況(2011年3月13日に撮影) JR新浦安駅前、道路のほとんどに、大量の泥が堆積し、ところどころ大きな水たまりもできている。湿ったままの泥もあるが、日中、日差しが強くもなれば、今度は乾いた泥が路面を覆い、住民を苦しめる。バスのロータリーでは、干からびた泥が、激しい土ぼこりとなって宙を舞い、視界もままならないほど。 屋外のエレベータや交番など、多くの建築物は、地盤の「沈下なのか隆起なのか」定かではないが、建物の底部が地表から離れ、基礎部を大きくあらわにしている。 駅から1kmほど離れた大手スーパー(イトーヨーカドー新浦安店)の付近でも、道路に泥や砂が堆積し、大きな店舗の基礎部分が、パックリと口を開けたように、地面から浮いている。よく見れば、周辺の舗道は、あちらこちら激しく壊れ、あるいはゆがんでいる。 驚くべきことに、本来、地中にあるべきマンホールの土管などが、地面から大きくせり出し、地表に異様な姿をさらしている光景が、街のいたる所で確認できた。 当時、この地域では、断水が続いており、緊急の給水場となった市立明海小学校では、水を求めて集まった多くの住民たちの姿があった。 [映像中に登場するレポーターは、フジテレビジョン 村上 正成 記者] Situation at Urayashi city in Chiba prefecture suffering ground liquefaction damages over a vast area due to the earthquake. There are areas of mud that is moist, but when the sun shines strongly during the day, dry mud covers the surface of the road, tormenting residents. At the bus rotary, dried up mud becomes dust, blowing up into the air, obstructing visibility. It is unclear if buildings such as the outside elevator and police box have sunk or risen, but their bases have been separated from the ground surface, exposing their foundations. About 1km away, near a major super market chain (Ito Yokado Shinurayasu shop), mud and sand have piled up on the road, the foundation of the large shop floating from the ground like an open mouth. Looking closely, the pavement has been greatly bent or broken in several areas. Shockingly, the earthen pipes of underground manholes protruding from the ground, exposing their queer appearance were spotted all over town. At the time, this region was suffering the suspension of water supply.
