Tsunami arriving at Tagajo city (Footage provided by viewer) The Japanese text is followed by an English translation. 仙台市の北東部に隣接する宮城・多賀城市...仙台のベットタウンともいえる、この地域を襲った津波の映像(視聴者提供映像)。 仙台塩釜港(仙台港区)から、北に約1km、県道23号線(多賀城市町前3丁目)付近のビルから撮影されたもの。 すでに河川のような状態と化した、県道23号線を間近に捉えたところから映像は始まる。 街路樹近くで波立つ激流、水面を浮遊していく車、身動きのとれなくなったトラック...車のクラクションとおぼしき音が鳴り続け、現場は緊迫感に包まれている。 撮影者も、周囲から避難を促され、撮影していたビルの、より上階へと移動した。 屋外階段から再びカメラを向けると、無数のがれきに交じり、大きな箱型の家屋も流されてきた。 水流の遠方、流れの緩やかな地点には、吹きだまりのように、コンテナなどの大型がれきが集積し、波にさらされている。 すでに、周囲一面は、大海原と化し、動けなくなったトラックなどの上に、逃げ遅れた人たちが、かろうじてとどまっている姿が、あたらこちらで確認できる。 やがて、大きなタンクローリーまでが流されてきて、ビル目前の街路樹に引っかかった。 撮影者も思わず、「爆発の危険性」について口にする。 道路(県道)を挟んで向かい側、平屋建ての店舗では、かろうじて水没を免れている屋根の上に、必死に避難する人たちの姿が見えた。 低温・悪天候にさらされながら、撮影者の発する「寒い」...という嗚咽(おえつ)が、何度か聞こえてくる。 流れの勢いが弱まる気配もないまま、映像は終わる。 (※現在、当該映像提供者の連絡先等が不明となっており、FNNでは、当該映像提供者からのご連絡をお待ちしております。また、映像提供者やそのご連絡先等をご存知の方は、「FNN東日本大震災アーカイブ担当」までご連絡ください) Footage: Tsunami attacking the so-called commuter city of Sendai, the Tagajo city of Miyagi prefecture situated adjacent to the northeastern region of Sendai city. (Footage provided by viewer) The footage was recorded from a building near prefectural road 23 (Machimae 3-chome area, Tagajo city) about 1km north of Sendai Shiogama Port (Sendai district). It begins with a capture of prefectural road 23, already resembling the appearance of a river. Near the tree-lined street, the scene is filled with tension. Torrents are creating waves, cars are floating on the water surface, a truck is stuck motionless and a car horn honks ceaselessly. The recorder of the video is urged to evacuate from the scene by those around him and heads up the stairs to a higher level within the building. When the camera looks out from the building’s outdoor stairs, a box-shaped house is floating among the countless number of debris. In the far-off distance at points where the flow is milder, large pieces of debris such as containers have drifted and accumulated, exposing itself to the waves. All around within periphery is a vast expanse of sea, and people left behind have gathered together on higher ground, such as atop broken down trucks. A number of evacuees can be spotted here and there. Eventually, a giant tank truck comes floating by and is caught among the trees lined along the street in front of the building. The recorder of the video reflexibly mentions the dangers of explosion. Across the street (prefectural road) on the other side, in a single-story house, a number of evacuees are escaping to the rooftop that is barely managing to escape the waters. Amid low temperatures and abysmal weather, the man holding the video camera sobs and lets out a few cries of “It’s cold.” Without any signs of the currents slowing down, the footage ends.
