FOX NASHVILLE's video: Owner of land holding controversial Confederate General statue has died

FOX 17 News has confirmed that the owner of the property housing a highly-contentious statue of a Confederate General, which is widely visible from I-65, has passed away. Now, the question is what his passing could mean for the future of the statue. Bill Dorris lived in the Midstate, and an employee at a business he used to own confirmed his passing to FOX 17 News on Wednesday, but they did not know the cause of death. Dorris owned the private land where a statue of Nathan Bedford Forrest, a Confederate General, and early leader of the Ku Klux Klan, can be seen clearly from I-65.
