FOX NASHVILLE's video: Forced changes to haunted houses ahead of Halloween

Haunted Houses are getting into full swing, but this year with some adjustments. Devil’s Dungeon’s owner and operator Patrick Warner said they are requiring masks, social distancing, and taking temperature checks. “We have an extensive plan that’s like four pages long,” Warner said. “We presented it to the Health Department and the characters have seen it as well.” As part of that health plan, Warner said they had to change several of the house’s scenes. “Typically I’m looking at trying to squeeze in as much stuff [as possible], and make areas tight and uncomfortable,” Warner said. “While this year I’m having to widen out pathways, getting rid of doorways that slow you down.” The actors normally get close to the people walking through the house, but not this year. “Even though we’re wearing masks, we still don’t want the potential for any kind of particles as you’re breathing or yelling or so on transferring back-and-forth from characters to customers and vice versa,” Warner said. Warner said they are limited to 50% capacity right now because of restrictions, so he said people should buy their tickets online.
