An average Tibetan Mastiff has a bite force of 556 PSI and can reach a height of 26 inches and weigh anywhere between 100 and 160 pounds. Turkish Kangal The Turkish Kangal is one of the most popular dog breeds in Turkey. Originally meant for guardian livestock, the Turks slowly warmed up to the Kangal and domesticated them to keep as pets. Although they aren’t that common in the states they are extremely popular in African countries such as Namibia and Nigeria due to their intimidating size and protective nature. They can successfully protect local herds from lions, cheetahs, and other indigenous predators. And despite their mean streak, the Turkish Kangal is still a very lovable breed of dog. They are extremely loyal to their owners and don’t act out aggressively unless it’s needed.
