The End of Shannara and Beyond: Spotlight on Terry Brooks FanX Salt Lake Comic Convention welcomes New York Times bestselling authorTerry Brooks in an exclusive, virtual spotlight panel! Terry is the author of the popular Shannara series, as well as the Landover series and The Word and Void trilogy. A television series based on his Shannara works, entitled The Shannara Chronicles, starring FanX alum Manu Bennett, premiered on MTV in January 2016. Along with his works in fantasy in science fiction, Terry has also written novelizations of popular films, including Steven Spielberg's Hook and Star Wars Episode One: The Phantom Menace. Join Terry as he spotlights the recently-released final Shannara novel, The Last Druid, reflects on his writing career, and answers your questions. This panel will be moderated by author and editor Shawn Speakman (Unfettered, The Dark Thorn). TERRY BROOKS BIO A writer since the age of ten, Terry Brooks published his first novel, The Sword of Shannara, in 1977. It became the first work of fiction ever to appear on the New York Times Trade Paperback Bestseller List, where it remained for over five months. He has written thirty-nine bestselling novels, as well as movie adaptations of Hook and Star Wars: The Phantom Menace and a memoir on his writing life titled Sometimes the Magic Works. He has sold over fifty million copies of his books domestically and is published worldwide. The Shannara series was a series for two seasons on MTV in 2015-16. His latest novel, The Last Druid, the fourth book of the Fall of Shannara series, and final book in the thirty book series, will be published in late October 2020. The author lives with his wife Judine in the Pacific Northwest.
