The years are slightly off (Tandi died in 2248), but nevertheless Edward Sallow (AKA Caesar) started out in life as a citizen of the New California Republic, which Tandi founded and led as president until her death at the age of 103. Growing up as a young lad in the Boneyard he likely did indeed hear Tandi on his Wireless. Just in a different year other than '52 as she was dead by then, but otherwise this "Just Works™", as Todd Howard might say. Don't let the apparent misogyny of the Legion fool you - Caesar respected Tandi for her strong leadership, due to the fact that no one else either could or would oppose her. Though she was a president in title, she ruled the NCR for life, more like a dictator or Queen in practical terms. During the long period of Tandi's leadership, the NCR was at its strongest. Since her death, though, it has deteriorated into a corrupt oligarchy led by weak presidents like Kimball. Caesar sees the NCR in its current form as so inherently broken that its defeat by his Legion is an inevitability. But the NCR under Tandi's leadership was an altogether different beast than the NCR that now exists in 2281. Growing up in that environment shaped the young Edward Sallow's thinking and world view every bit as much as every book he read on Roman history when his widowed mother raised him with the help of the Followers of the Apocalypse. This will probably be the last video I make using this specific meme template. The idea came to me when I was working on the previous one with Colonel Moore and Mr. House and it sounded so good that I just had to do it. I considered using an image of Old Tandi, but considering that she is dead in this time either way, it would probably be better to have her in her younger and happier form.
