Hey everyone, I'm in Pattaya city currently. As it's almost been a week since I came to Thailand, I thought of making a vlog and talk about the most common yet very important questions we might have regarding traveling to Thailand. You can watch the vlog for all the details, but I'm also summarizing the points I mentioned below: Visa On Arrival - If you'll apply for a visa on arrival, you'll have to fill out a form. Make sure you have the following information ready with you - ► Passport Size Picture ► Return Flight details ► Hostel/Hotel Booking details You fill out the form and pay around 2000-2500 Thai Baht visa fee and you'll be granted a Visa. For me, it was a very quick process. I was done with visa formalities at the airport within an hour. Currency Exchange - I would recommend converting Rs 10000/- to Thai Baht from India. You'll get around 4500 Baht. This is enough to pay for the VISA. Once you arrive in Thailand, go to any ATM machine, and withdraw the money from there. Make sure you withdraw all the amount for the number of days you're staying in Thailand. The reason why is that for every transaction, you'll have to pay 220 baht fees if you're using an Indian card. To avoid paying it, again and again, just withdraw all the money for the trip in one go. Transport - In Bangkok, you can use the Metro. It is very affordable. Avoid using any taxis or Tuks Tuks as they'll charge you a lot. You can also use apps like Grab or Bolt (like uber and ola in India) in Thailand. Bolt is more affordable. In Pattaya city, you can even rent a bike. Electronics and Vat Refund - The prices of cameras, phones, and other electronics are relatively cheap if you compare them to India. My friend bought an iPhone 14 Pro Max and I bought the Go Pro Hero 11. I can comfortably say that we saved a lot of money on these products. If you're looking to buy such products as well, make sure you get a VAT refund from the Thailand airport when returning to India. More info in the video. Sim Card - Make sure that you buy a sim card only in Thailand. At the airport in India, you'll see several stalls where you can buy an international sim. Don't do that! It will be expensive.
