Synopsis : “Heritage” is a simple story of a Bengali family describing the dynamic relationship of a Father and daughter and its changing perspectives. A Professor of Bengali Literature, Ranjan Ganguly is an ever simple person with a great affinity towards, mother tongue, culture and deeply attracted to the roots. On the contrary, the daughter Riya, under the influence of her mother thinks such types of persons as failures and reaches abroad for higher studies to become successful in life. In the meantime, Corona virus stops the normal life across the globe with its detrimental impact. But this provides an opportunity for Riya to discover the qualities of his father in a big way and from here the dynamics of the relationship takes a turn. All the actors in the film namely – Rajiv, Titli, Sudakshina & Manju are from different professional fields in academics and engineering industries and have tried to put their best in making a simple story attractive under the able guidance of the renowned filmmaker Shri Prodip Ghosh. This story emphasizes the father-daughter relationship as well as emphasizes the value of mother tongue, culture and most importantly the role of Rabindranath Tagore in a Bengali Society in a really simple way.
