During our trip to the Iron Triangle in August 2016, a CSX train came through with the words "Coke Express" on the sides of the cars. It was interesting how some of the cars had height extensions so they could hold more. Coke is a purer form of coal, almost pure carbon, which burns hotter than regular coal. It looks like CSX increased the capacity of some old coal hoppers, since coke is lighter than normal coal and more volume can be carried with the same weight.
