Ferroequinology's video: Long Molten Metal Train With Drone Footage

@Long Molten Metal Train! (With Drone Footage)
On a cold day in January 2017, an empty bottle train starts up from a big steel mill about a mile northwest of Dolton IL. The locomotive was just started up a few minutes ago and smoke pours from the cold diesel engine. It's headed to northern Indiana to pick up a load of molten steel, which will be brought back to Dolton. These train cars are commonly called "bottle cars" or "torpedo cars" because of their shape. A motor at one end of the car can rotate the middle section to pour out the molten steel. I haven't seen many bottle trains, but this one seems unusually long. ___________________________________ While at Dolton, we took lots more drone footage of the trains that came through: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OBFYxGbj1aE
