Filming Nature's Extremes's video: Balboa Pier - Newport Beach CA

Balboa Pier, the second of 2 piers in the City of Newport Beach, CA was constructed in 1906 and stretches 920 feet over the beautiful Pacific. Just a couple miles south of the Newport Pier on the Balboa Peninsula, Balboa Pier is a local hot-spot to fishermen, beach-goers, and anyone looking to take a nice stroll over the Pacific! Also featured in the video is a surf spot called "The Wedge", which is famous for it's massive waves that break in 2 to 3 foot deep waters along the shore. The Wedge is located just a mile south of Balboa Pier and at the entrance to the Newport Bay. The day I filmed was decent, but on a day with good surf it can have waves up to 30 feet!
