Wann Yen and Mark Thai Food Box is a secret spot just off The Ave in the University District. Mark Pinkaow has been serving delicious Thai food to Seattle for the last decade and Wann Yen delivered on our high expectations. We arrived at the restaurant in search of one particular dish, Kao Mun Gai. KMG is a very common street dish in Bangkok and if we see it on a menu in the city, we get very excited. From an aesthetic perspective, the dish is very simple, boiled chicken, rice and a side of broth and spicy sauce. But in the simplicity, comes its power. We loved the flavors packed into the togo container and were very happy with their offerings. Wann Yen has their pickup window ready for you, and if you're looking for more off Mark's Thai Food Box, check their website for options and locations. Wann Yen has also garnered attention for their Thai desserts, we didn't try them on this short trip, but we will be back to try their Mango Yogurt with Sago Coconut, Mango Sticky Rice,and Thai Iced Coffee.
